MICHELLE GORDON

Featured in the Jamaica Observer, Kevin Jackson's Chartbeat - Nov. 3, 2002

Michelle Gordon is back! With her strikingly good looks, compelling vocals and a style that is reminiscent of international songbird Whitney Houston, Michelle Gordon is poised to create musical waves with her second album, Michelle/Michelle.

After winning quite a few talent concerts in her native Jamaica, Michelle left “the rock” at age 7 to settle in Miami. She has opened for several acts including “Grammy KidShabba Ranks, Patra, and International Singers, Jimmy Cliff and Skeeter Davis. Having toured extensively as a backup vocalist for a number of performers including former Black Uhuru member and Grammy winner, Michael Rose, Michelle is now a seasoned professional and fully prepared to support this effort.

As it explores every crevice of Reggae’s broad spectrum, Michelle/Michelle, produced by Anthony Gordon of Ras-I-Productions is the perfect kick off to a renewed seriousness . From the roots inspired pieces “Jah Is Always Around" and “Father Help Me”, to the British styled Lovers’ Reggae, "Your Love In Me“ and ”Hurry Home Baby”, Michelle/Michelle is positioned to seduce even the most hardened critic. This 15 track album is a potpourri of sultry, sexy, conscious and often soul stirring music; all of which is delivered on a platter, sprinkled with flavors of Urban, Dancehall, Roots and Lovers influenced Reggae melodies.
